The look and feel!

Wooden floors add a natural charm to any room. There are endless possibilities in choosing a design to complement your current decor. With our Aluminium Oxide pre-finished flooring you have a twenty year warranty against wear and tear under normal domestic traffic.

Durability and longevity

Wooden flooring is more durable and lasts longer than ever before with the technology of modern protective finishes. Because of its longevity and durability solid hardwood flooring possibly provides the best value-for-money option compared to other types of flooring.

Temperature & sound regulator

Wood is an insulator, helping to keep heat in when it's cold and the house cool when it's hot. Solidwood is also a fibrous material and it absorbs sound.

Adds value to your home

Hardwood flooring will add value to the resale value of your house, making it a great investment. Installation is quick and easy on any surface.

Low maintenance

Regular sweeping or vacuuming and the occasional mop (with the  appropriate cleaner) is all it takes to maintain its any solid wood floorings lustre, because dirt and dust do not "stick" to hardwood surfaces.

Safety

Wood will absorb impact better than other floor types because of its natural "softness", making it potentially safer for places with children and babies

Allergies

Hardwood flooring is clean and dust mites and other allergic organisms do not live on such floors making it ideal for the modern environment where so much pollution surrounds us. Hardwood flooring is perfect to combat asthma and n numerous other allergies.

Environment

Solid wood flooring will react more readily to changes in the environment, such as fluctuations in temperature and humidity. Under cold and dry conditions, it will cause the wood to contract which will result in the appearance of gaps between boards. Likewise during warmer periods, heat and moisture in the air will cause the wood to expand, resulting in the boards to cup, buckle or warp.

Therefore, during installation of solid wood floors, it is important to allow the boards enough time to acclimatise to the humidity of the environment that it is going into (preferably one to two weeks or more). Also there is a need to ensure sufficient space around the perimeter of the room to allow for this natural expansion. This can be achieved by laying the floor before putting the skirting board on, this will ensure that there is sufficient space for the wood to “move” which it does due to it being a natural material.

Types of Flooring

Bamboo

Commonly referred to as the "grass of steel", bamboo is a mystical plant: a symbol of strength, flexibility, tenacity, and endurance. The extremely dense cell structure of bamboo supersedes wood in many of its qualities, making bamboo the strongest growing woody plant on earth. Though many see bamboo as a wood, it is in fact part of the grass family. Bamboo with its extraordinary growth, (harvested every five years) has always been seen as a environmental friendly resource.

It is unique in appearance, and is 30% harder than standard hardwoods, making it the perfect choice for high traffic places. In addition, bamboo possess anti allergenic qualities making it the perfect choice for use in areas where there are concerns regarding air quality, allergens and the off-gassing frequently associated with other building materials.

It is the only hardwood flooring that can be used in Bathrooms and other places where there may be water or a steamy environment.

Well-suited for floor covering, bamboo flooring has become increasingly popular. Bamboo flooring is unparalleled in the floor covering industry in terms of hardness, durability, and dimensional stability. One good aspect of bamboo flooring is the fact that bamboo flooring does not react to extreme environmental changes, and is subject to less expansion and contraction in comparison to other types of hardwood flooring.

Bamboo is a natural, beautiful, and environmentally friendly alternative to our limited global supply of wood. Today, people are rediscovering the advantages of bamboo, as one of the world's key construction materials. Fascinated by the qualities of  bamboo as one of the strongest building materials and as an essential structural material in earthquake architecture, the architects and engineers are integrating bamboo products into modern technologies for an incredible number of alternative construction techniques.

Solid wood flooring including Oak, Maple, Cherry, Beech and Others

Our solid wood floors are made from sustainable timber supplies and come in random lengths from 300mm long to 1200mm with an average length per carton of 700mm. This ensures that we maximise the use of our timber. Our floors are not engineered they are solid wood 18mm thick. We specialise in a limited range to ensure we can deliver on time the best quality products available in today’s market.

Finishes

We have two types of flooring finishes with our most popular being eight coats of aluminium oxide which gives the hardest wearing finish in the market today We always carry a lot of Oak and Bamboo in stock with this finish as it is our most popular.

Our other pre-finished floors are sanded, stained and sealed within a factory setting, thus avoiding being exposed to the dust and fumes of a job site finishing. They are coated with several layers of high grade urethane, making it extremely tough against scratches. In comparison, a job-site-finished unfinished floor may be a bit messy and will take longer to finish.
