Impervia® luxury flooring is like real wood flooring with a wide long board, textured surface and natural look. The rigid core is made up of stone and fiberglass and has all the health and safety certificates to meet the most stringent of environmental requirements. We have new machines to profile the latest 5Gi push fit system on our luxury floors and the rigid core has fibre as well, for total durability and stability.Impervia’s IXPE Backing is 1.5mm thick and is fixed to our rigid luxury flooring and tiles as part of the manufacturing process. This makes our products fully waterproof unlike other rigid flooring products that may have a cork or other porous backing. The structure shown in the image shoes the small indentations designed to improve acoustic qualities and will not reveal imperfections in the subfloor
We have worked closely with Interior Designers for more than 25 years. During this time the combination of creativity and collaboration has produced some amazing floors and finishes.
As we also have a furniture mill, we can create features to complement and even match our engineered flooring.
Sustainability is our mission which is why we produce a composite decking made up of 60% of wood waste. All our floors apart from Impervia are FSC or PEFC and we also have an additional due diligence system from the Timber Trade Federation of which we are a member of.
There are numerous methods for creating unique floors, such as fuming, smoking, staining. We can use special non VOC chemical to react with the natural tannins in the wood to create the greys and reclaimed wood look. Driftwood is a typical example of fuming and using chemical to react which brings out some fantastic natural colours and hues to compliment any interior décor.
We also worked with the designers on the floor in the new refurbished Viking Museum in the centre of York where our unfinished board was used and then two different coloured oils to define the river and display areas:
